The granite soils from Montsant used for the 2021 Dido accentuates more the effect of the years, so this 2021 is sharp, austere and reductive, with a paler color. It has moderate ripeness and 12.8% alcohol, a nuanced and subtle nose with herbal and floral notes, a spicy pinch and a medium-bodied palate with some grainy tannins with a chalky texture. They play a lot with concrete, with about 40% of the volume, and the rest is in oak containers of different sizes, from 300- to 4,000-liter ones. This is a serious, mineral red that transcends its price point. 101,892 bottles and some larger formats were produced. It was bottled between December 2020 and January 2021.

Wine Advocate
Tasting the red 2022 Dido next to the 2021 was a revelation of how transparent this wine is with the character of the year. This is darker, with a fruit-driven nose with darker berry fruit and a more voluptuous palate, reflecting the warmer and drier year. It’s a wine with more ripeness and higher alcohol (13.26%) and a rounder mouthfeel, with glossier tannins, even if they harvested a little earlier and do shorter macerations or use a higher percentage of carbonic maceration. They produced 96,000 bottles. It was bottled between January and March 2024.

Vinous
The 2022 Dido Brisat is a blend of Macabeu, Garnatxa Blanca and
Cartoixa from Montsant, fermented and soaked with 40% skins and stems. This orange wine, both in hue and style, presents aromas of kumquat with a vermouth-like core. Disheveled on the palate, its high alcohol content and compact flow create a warm and taut mouthfeel.
