Venus La Universal

Husband and wife team Sara Pérez and René Barbier (Fils), children of Priorat D.O. pioneers, chose to establish their joint project in the neighboring, quieter D.O. of Montsant. Drawing inspiration from the goddess Venus, their goal is to express femininity through wine. Though their wines are made from Grenache and Carignan in Southern Cataluña, they are incredibly elegant and refined, with restrained alcohol and impressive texture.

The grapes come from four hectares of vineyards, cultivated by four grape-growing families in Falset, and one small plot owned by Venus. This collaboration ensures that the vineyards follow the strict ecological standards set by Sara and René. The Dido grapes grow on decomposed granite soils, giving them ripeness and vibrant fruit flavors, while the Venus grapes are cultivated in clay-calcareous soils, producing wines with slow, complex ripening and elegant character.
