Domaine Berthet Rayne- Capeau (Chateauneuf-du-Pape)

View Winery Website

For four generations, this esteemed family estate has been dedicated to cultivating 22 hectares of vineyards in the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Committed to eco-friendly practices, they cultivate and plough their soil without weedkillers, treating their vines naturally with specially adapted tools. The estate produces exquisite wines from carefully selected grape varieties, including Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault for reds, and Clairette, Bourboulenc, and Roussanne for whites. With a yield of 35 hl per hectare, every grape is handpicked and meticulously sorted to ensure the highest quality.

Modern vinification techniques, such as light pressing and temperature-controlled fermentation, enhance the delicate, fruity flavors of their wines. After fermentation, the wine is decanted into vats, with select vintages aged in oak casks for up to a year. The finest wines, presented in distinctive bottles featuring the Châteauneuf-du-Pape coat of arms, develop rich aromas and flavors over three to five years, reaching their peak complexity after seven years and can be enjoyed for up to twelve years. This estate promises an extraordinary wine experience that captures the essence of the region’s renowned terroir.
