This 100% Sauvignon white wine has a floral and fruity nose combining white flowers with citrus fruits, a resplendent golden robe with glints of green, and a lively, refreshing palate.

Alphonse Mellot, Sancerre BLANC, "La Moussiere" 2021	90 Vinous The 2021 Sancerre La Moussiere was tasted as a finished wine still in tank and offers attractive purity and balance. There’s tenderness through the mid palate, concentration and ripe fruit, which is no mean feat in the cool 2021 season. 91 Decanter An impressive 2021 with quite ripe, rich, mouth-filling fruit with notes of grapefruit. Currently it is a little tight in the well-balanced finish, but I expect the young 2021 will develop further in bottle. The long established Alphonse Mellot domaine, with 52ha in the Sancerre appellation, has its cellars right in the centre of the town of Sancerre. La Moussière is a more than 30ha south-facing parcel planted on Kimmeridgian marne on the left hand side of the main road to Bourges. Around 50% of La Moussière is barrel fermented. La Moussiere is their flagship vineyard with over thirty hectares of marl and limestone soil. This single variety Sauvignon Blanc has a very pale, yellow color, with subtle citrus aromas and flavors with dusty, chalky mineral notes.
