Alphonse Mellot, Sancerre ROUGE, "Le Paradis"
At the beginning of the 19th century, Alphonse Mellot created the family house in Sancerre which has since continued its expansion from father to son. Already from the 16th century, local archives mention the Mellot family, as recognized winegrowers and wine merchants. For the record, King Louis XIV, in 1698, chose César Mellot as wine advisor.
The eldest of each generation bears the first name of the founder. This is how even today Alphonse Mellot father and son perpetuate this wine tradition and produce high quality Sancerre wines from a vineyard of more than 30 hectares in one piece.
Paradis d’Alphonse Mellot is made from vineyards whose grapes give rise to great Sancerre wines recognized for their elegance and rich aromatic palette. Le Paradis by Alphonse Mellot is a red Sancerre wine made exclusively from Pinot Noir.
