We are Germany’s oldest family owned winery dating back to the year 1219. Today, the 32nd Generation in the family,  Felix  Prince  zu  Salm-Salm, is  leading  the  estate.  He  studied winemaking in Geisenheim and is held responsible for the wines since 2007. Since 2015 his wife Victoria has joined him at the estate concentrating on sales and marketing.

We see to it that the soils are well supplied, vines are healthy, yields are reduced and grapes are of the best possible quality. When handled with such care, the vines reliably bring forth small berries that are rich in substance, fruit aromas and minerals.

Riesling is our main focus which brings forth 2/3 of our yearly production. We have unique soils like green and red slate which bring forth unique wines. vineyards. Knowing this is the foundation of our success.
