Tablas Creek, Syrah, Paso Robles 2022	95 Decanter The Tablas Creek Syrah comes from their Adelaida District estate. It’s elegant, charming, and medium-bodied, with impressive chiselled minerality. Its aromatic display includes bright, sweet red berries, dried lavender, crushed stone minerals, and a smoky hint of rose petals. The palate is lithe, fresh, and loaded with finesse: red bramble fruits, dried mountain herbs, iron ore and stone mineral core. It is distinguished and delicious, and frankly, for $55, it punches way above its weight class. 93 Wine Advocate The 2022 Syrah is a lovely wine, led by textbook savory aromas of olive tapenade, black pepper and deep, brooding dark fruits. The palate is beautifully svelte and delineated, with a lifted, bright energy imparted by the subtle inclusion of stems. It concludes with a chewy, grippy tannin structure with enough fruit stuffing and refreshing acidity to stave off harshness. This will merit a few years in the cellar to further integrate and soften, but it should develop beautifully in bottle. 93 Wine Enthusiast Dark red fruit aromas meet with dusty herbs and a rusty minerality on the nose of this bottling, which reveals how Syrah can be balanced and delicate. The palate presents floral tones of scarlet red rose petals and lavender that decorate the clean cherry and ample baking spice flavors. 94 James Suckling Lifted red fruit and earth on the nose, complemented by notes of dark cherries, rhubarb and spices. The palate is medium-bodied with chalky tannins and vibrant acidity, showing notes of bramble berries, graphite and charcuterie. Very balanced and complete. Drink or hold.
