The 2022 Grenache features a high-toned and pretty nose of dried cranberry, blood orange, bramble, potting soil and dried herbs, introducing a palate that delivers impressive punch and detailed layers of taut, ripe fruits. The finish is sturdy and firm, lined with refreshing acidity and fine, well-articulated tannins that swell with intensity. This is still quite tight but impressive at this early stage and should have at least a solid decade of development ahead of it.
Light colored, with aromas of rose petals, orange zest and cranberries. The palate has bright acidity, firm chewy tannins and notes of sour cherries, red currants and sweet spices. Will evolve nicely in years to come. Drink or hold.
The 2022 Grenache lifts from the glass with a sweet bouquet of minty herbs, stone dust and wild strawberries. This coats the palate with crisp wild berry fruits and tactile mineral tones all offset by pretty sour citrus. Youthful tension and staining blackberries add a pleasantly tart sensation through the finish.

Bright ruby and translucent Grenache from Paso’s first name in Rhône varietals, Tablas Creek. Aromas of dusty red berries, rose hip oil, and dried Mediterranean scrub alight from the glass. The tart and tangy red berries come to the forepalate while an elegance of savoury herbs and exotic spices mingle with smoke as the texture and structure of mineral elements of crushed basalt carry the finish.
The 2022 Tablas Creek Grenache comes from this warm vintage that was known for extreme heat at harvest. Super translucent in the glass, this delivers rich strawberry and Bing cherry notes alongside dusty soils on the palate. Smooth and polished, this is already really nicely evolved stuff. Fruity intensity and saline minerality leap out, this wine is a touch shy on opening but revels in its fruity depths as it reveals itself, showing violet, dried lavender and gorgeous red strawberry flesh. The 2023 vintage of Tablas Creek Grenache marks the 15th vintage for this variety from the Paso Robles, Rhône devotees. It shows a great freshness and balance on the palate, with full, purple fruit flavors, a mix of desert scrub and white pepper corn it finishes with a balance of berries and peppery spice.
A savory expression of Grenache with depth, spices and a meaty quality not typically found in the variety in Paso. Punched upminerality and taut acidity make for a crunchy mouthfeel, but there is still plenty of berry and cherry fruit for friendliness. Fascinating and long. Drink or hold, but best after 2026.
The 2023 Grenache displays a lovely savoriness as dried strawberries mix with peppery herbs and dusty violet tones. A balanced inner sweetness and creamy feel are present, yet the wine remains lifted and spry as ripe blackberry fruits slowly saturate. Slightly chewy and gently tannic, it finishes with wonderful length and hints of licorice and spice. Frankly speaking, I would never peg this cool-toned and precise Grenache as a child of Paso Robles. Beautifully done.
