Founded more than two centuries ago, Rosa del Golfo winery is located in the south east section of the Pulia region in Salento.The winery was started by Leopoldo Calo when he started cultivating a plot of land with vineyards and olive trees. The winery grew under his nephew Giuseppe Calo, who begin selling his family’s wines in northern Italy and France.

In 1963, Guiseppe’s son, Mino Calo joined the estate. It was this same year, that the winery begin producing its iconic rose called Rosa del Golfo. The success of this later led Mino to change the name of the family winery to Rosa del Golfo in 1988. After Mino’s death in 1998, his son Damiano took over the winery.
