Laurent Ponsot, Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru "Cuvee du Cypres"

There is an appealing spiciness to the fresh and bright aromas of mostly red currant and warm earth. The delicious, detailed and nicely vibrant middleweight flavors possess excellent depth and persistence on the equally built-to-age finish where a touch of austerity slowly emerges as it sits on the palate. This is presently quite tightly wound though I suspect that it will be reasonably approachable after 7 to 8 if you don’t wish to wait for full maturity.
