Domaine Jean Pierre Large
Jean-Pierre Large is the skilled winemaker behind the renowned Domaine Cheysson Chiroubles, a Beaujolais Cru that has been imported for over 15 years. His expertise extends to producing the Morgon, a wine rooted in family tradition. The grapes for this wine come from old vines planted by Jean-Pierre’s grandfather, adding richness and complexity. The wine “Les Délys” is a tribute to Jean-Pierre’s family heritage. Named after the property in Villié Morgon, where his family has lived for over 200 years, “Les Délys” honors the birthplace of his father and the legacy of his grandfather, who fondly referred to it as “the cradle of his family.”
Morgon wines are celebrated for their deep character and potential for aging. The unique terroir, with soil depths of three to six feet above a granite rock foundation, allows the vines to develop deep roots, contributing to the wine’s earthy complexity. Jean-Pierre’s Morgon comes from 2 hectares in the region’s most prestigious climates, with vineyards facing south and southeast, ideal for producing wines with profound expression and age-worthy qualities.
