Domaine Jean-Claude Bachelet owns 0.40 hectares here, touching the Puligny border, right below Bâtard. The vines here are sixty years old and suffering from court-noué, reducing yields, increasing concentration, and advancing ripening. The wine is concentrated yet never loses its delicacy or finesse. The palate is well balanced, taut and fresh, with a fine bead of acidity. Hints of white peach and apricot appear toward the poised, elegant finish. This is a well-crafted, quite seductive Chassagne. 90 Wine Advocate Offering up aromas of pear, melon, white flowers and nutmeg, the 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Encégnières is medium to full-bodied, satiny and gourmand, with a fleshy core of fruit underpinned by bright acids that temper its generosity of fruit. Jean-Claude Bachelet, Chassagne-Montrachet Les Encegnieres 2021	91 Wine Advocate The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet Les Encégnières is also very successful, unfurling in the glass with aromas of confit citrus, pear and bread dough framed by an attractive touch of youthful reduction. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless, with excellent volume and cut, it’s bright and charming. 90-92 Vinous The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet les Encegnières has a slightly heavier reduction on the nose that makes it difficult to read. The palate is full of energy and tension, yellow fruit mixed with pop corn and even hints of white chocolate, quite persistent and saline on the finish.
