Full-bodied, satiny and multidimensional, it’s layered and concentrated, with terrific depth and cut, concluding with a long, expansive finish.

Jean-Claude Bachelet, Grand Cru Bienvenues Batard Montrachet 2020	97 Wine Advocate The 2020 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is a resounding success, mingling aromas of peach, pear, orange oil and confit lemon with notions of hazelnuts, white flowers and buttered toast. Full-bodied, broad and muscular, it’s deep and multidimensional, its satiny attack segueing into a layered, seamless mid-palate framed by racy acids and chalky structuring dry extract. Sadly, it’s produced in tiny quantities, so it won’t be easy to find. 94-96 Vinous The 2022 Bienvenue-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, the only Grand Cru belonging to the Domaine, has a beguiling nose with wild peach, orange blossom and crushed stone aromas soaring from the glass. The aromatics do not hold back. The palate is well-balanced with beautifully integrated oak (100% since 2020 in one 456-liter François Frère barrel, whereas it used to be two barrels). Very harmonious and smooth. There is, somewhat predictably, given the élevage, tangible oak influence towards the finish. As such, it will require several years to subsume the wood. Full-bodied, satiny and multidimensional, it’s layered and concentrated, with terrific depth and cut, concluding with a long, expansive finish. 94-96 Vinous The 2021 Bienvenue-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru had quite a lot of reduction on the nose when I tasted it at the Domaine. The palate is where the action is: intense citrus fruit, frangipane, lemongrass and crushed stone, gaining weight towards the finish with wonderful persistency. This seems to grow in the glass.
