An excellent quality Cornas from very old vines from a vintage drinking very well now. Deep ruby. Powerful w. pronounced aroma intensity. Developing w. black cherry, blackberry, cassis, leather & tobacco. Christmas spice of clove & anise, black pepper & granitic earthy notes. Pronounced flavours of ripe black cherry, damson, blackcurrant, chocolate, loganberry, coffee grinds, black pepper & a powerful, rich & concentrated long finish.

Domaine du Tunnel, Cornas 2019	94 Vinous Opaque ruby. Spice-accented aromas of black raspberry, violet and licorice, with a hint of smoky bacon in the background. Concentrated yet energetic as well, offering intense dark berry, floral pastille and black pepper flavors; a bracing jolt of minerality adds back-end cut. Domaine du Tunnel, Cornas 2020	94-96 Vinous Saturated violet. Highly fragrant, mineral-accented boysenberry, cherry liqueur, candied violet and allspice aromas are complemented by a smock mineral nuance. Offers palate-staining dark berry, candied licorice and bitter chocolate flavors that pick up notes of candied flowers and exotics spices on the back half.
