Jancis Robinson
Mid ruby. Ripe red fruits, cherry, strawberry and raspberry. Plenty of spice and medium firm tannins. Less exuberant and immediately impressive than at Grivot, but certainly showing great concentration and class.

Decanter
The Beaux Monts from Lambrays 0.45 hectares in Beaux Monts Haut has produced a complex, enchanting wine in 2022. Tasted from barrel, the deeply-coloured wine shows a bit of reduction and impressively complex aromas of blackberry and rose petals, all with a saline, savoury, almost animal edge. The texture is dense and firmly tannic but not unapproachable. However, wine lovers able to wait a decade after release should be richly rewarded by this wine’s complex beauty.

James Suckling
Slightly vertical but ethereal and transparent on the nose, with dark berries, fine sweet spices and forest floor. Fine tannins and sweet spices in its lengthy, delineated finish. A bit darker and spicier than the Morey-Saint-Denis offerings. Drink from 2026.

Showcasing quite an exotic nose, there is a tantalizing rusticity that is more reminiscent of Nuits. The structure is properly Vosne, however, with languid tannins and scintillating freshness from these upslope vines. Black plums, damp earth and dark spices run rampant.

Vinous
The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru, which comes from the upper part of the climat, includes 40% whole bunch. It has a beautifully pure bouquet with dark cherries, blueberries scents—quintessentially and violet Vosne-Romanée. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. It is more complex than the 2022, with graphite and hints of marmalade toward the weighty finish. This is excellent and will meliorate in bottle.
