James Suckling
Pristine and honest, with elegant, crunchy Morello cherries and a touch of dark minerals. It’s fruity for sure, but there is also a mossy character on the medium-bodied palate, with a firm, structured finish. Good length. Drink from 2026.

This rich red offers cherry, boysenberry, incense and vanilla aromas and flavors. Supple, yet with a firm backbone, this is balanced and lingers on the spicy, mineral-tinged finish. Drink now through 2037. 160 cases imported.

Decanter
This distinctive wine has a fresh and bright cherry fruit aroma with a distinct hint of peony and anise. The texture is lively and silky, with an ethereal, dynamic tension that stays in balance with the forward fruit character. The grapes come from two parcels at the top of the slope, Les Larrets above the Clos and En la Rue de Vergy above the Clos de Tart. This wine is a perennial favourite of mine for top quality at a reasonable price.

This is luscious and supple, displaying cherry, blackberry, sandalwood, vanilla and iron flavors. A line of dense tannins adds lift, leaving a dusty feel on the finish. Best from 2029 through 2045.

Vinous
The 2023 Morey-Saint-Denis Village comes from the upper part of the slope on limestone soils. Slightly tertiary on the nose, this has well-defined red berry fruit with a hint of crushed violet emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied, open-knit and expressive. Grainy tannins build toward the finish that is very elegant and poised. This will be hard to resist in its youth, so why bother?
