Chateâu Cissac

View Winery Website

Château Cissac, nestled in the heart of Bordeaux’s esteemed Médoc region, boasts a rich history dating back to Roman times. Built on the remains of a Roman villa, the château has been a family-run estate since 1895. Today, it is expertly managed by Marie Vialard, a direct descendant of the original owners. The estate spans 100 hectares, bordered by the renowned Saint-Estèphe and Pauillac appellations.

Château Cissac’s terroir, with its gravelly soil layered over clay and limestone, is ideal for cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon, the cornerstone of its exceptional wines. This varietal is artfully blended with Merlot and Petit Verdot, producing complex, expressive wines that embody the strength and elegance of the Médoc.

At Château Cissac, tradition and innovation go hand in hand. Committed to sustainable practices, the estate continuously enhances its production methods while respecting the natural environment. The result is wines that reflect the history, terroir, and craftsmanship of the region, offering deep color, rich aromas of cherry and plum, and a hint of smoke and liquorice—true expressions of Bordeaux’s finest.
