Champagne Salon
Salon is a champagne of unparalleled singularity, crafted from a single terroir in the Côte des Blancs, a single cru: Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, a single grape variety: Chardonnay, and only in exceptional vintages. Created by Eugène-Aimé Salon in 1905, this Blanc de Blancs was originally made for his personal enjoyment. His passion for the Le Mesnil terroir led him to share his creation with the world in the 1920s.
Champagne Salon is sourced from a one-hectare plot known as “the Salon garden” and nineteen other small plots in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, all selected by Salon himself. The wines are aged for an average of ten years, revealing their complexity and finesse over time. Salon’s legacy is preserved through the conservation of bottles from nearly every vintage, with only 37 vintages produced in the 20th century. Today, Champagne Salon is managed alongside Champagne Delamotte by Didier Depond and Michel Fauconnet of the Laurent-Perrier group.
