Ca' Del Baio Barbaresco DOCG "Asili"
The history of Ca’ del Baio begins from this vineyard, cultivated in one of the most famous Langa Crus in the world, and this wine contains the precious fruit of our oldest vineyards, refined and elegant.
Color bright garnet red, with slight orange tinges; nose intense, with fruity aromas of marasca cherries and hints of violets. Spicy notes of black pepper, liquorice and goudron; taste dry, warm and soft, showing a long, rich, smooth flavor. Italian sweet wine par excellence, traditionally accompanies leavened desserts (brioche and panettone), those based on creams and Chantilly, and fruit desserts.

The 2020 Barbaresco Asili is one of the most beautiful, pure wines I have ever tasted from Ca’ del Baio. Lifted aromatics and bright red-toned fruits are classic Asili signatures. The tannins will need a bit of time to soften, but all the elements are impeccably balanced. This is impressive stuff, and a gorgeous wine.

Notes of spiced cherries and dried wild strawberries with dried rosemary, lilac and bark. Medium- to full-bodied with a firm grip of velvety tannins and juicy acidity coming through. Attractive notes of cherries and dried herbs mixed with citrus peel. Vibrant. Try from 2025.

Strawberries, watermelon, pomegranate, fresh violets and a lot of orange peel. Then the full-bodied palate shows pinot-like elegance, almost silky tannins and great concentration of fruit, with rhubarb notes, fierce tannins that are elegant and ripe, refreshing acidity and a long, precise, polished aftertaste. Drink or hold.

The 2021 Barbaresco Asili shows all the pedigree of this great site. Crushed flowers, bright red-toned fruit, mint, cinnamon, and rose petals soar from the glass. Medium in body yet wonderfully deep, the Asili has so much to offer. What a pretty and expressive wine it is. Give it a few years in bottle.

:ovely fragrances of cinnamon, nutmeg, red cherry and lilac introduce the wine, with transparency and freshness which overflows onto the palate. It sports quite a serious backbone of dry, chalky tannins with supple fruit to smooth out the edges. Balanced and flavourful, it has appetising savoury length. Produced since 1988, when the family stopped supplying grapes to the Produttori del Barbaresco. As there will be no Riserva bottling in 2022, the old 1957 plantings are blended here.
