Bouchard Pere & Fils, Nuits-St.-Georges 1er Cru Cailles 2021	91-92 Wine Advocate Aromas of sweet berries, rose petals, orange rind and cinnamon introduce the 2021 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Cailles, a medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy wine that’s seamless and sensual, underpinned by lively acids and concluding with a saline finish. 91-93 Vinous The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Cailles 1er Cru has an opulent and rich bouquet with candied orange peel and marmalade filtering through the mainly black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins and a bit low in acidity, but I appreciate the fruit profile with a very smooth and quite long finish. Probably one of the earlier drinking Premier Crus. 93 Decanter Bright cassis fruit aromas lead for this classic expression of Nuits-St-Georges, with classic notes of earth, mineral, smoke and leather. The structure is impressively dense and structure, but the lively acidity keeps everything in balance. The grapes come from nearly a hectare of vines in Les Cailles, close to premier cru Les St-Georges. The wine seems more structured and dense than one would expect given its rather cool climate. This is a wine worth seeking out.
