Bodegas Penalba Herraiz

Bodegas Penalba Herraiz is led by winemaker Miguel Ángel Peñalba Martínez, a lifelong resident of Ribera del Duero. With a background in Chemistry, winemaking, and business, Miguel has managed over 250 hectares of vineyards for more than a decade. He has successfully transitioned many of these vineyards from conventional farming to organic practices, and is now implementing biodynamic methods across his sites.

The winery produces two wines exclusively from vineyards under Miguel’s care, with a focus on biodynamic principles from farming to harvest. Sourcing grapes from villages around Aranda del Duero, the vineyards feature rare historic varieties like Albillo, Garnacha, and Monastrell. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested in small boxes, ensuring they reach the winery in peak condition.
