Bodegas Diez Mérito

View Winery Website

Bodegas Díez Mérito produces Sherry wines, Brandy de Jerez, vinegar, and other spirits using the traditional solera and criadera systems in their historic Jerez bodegas, El Cuadro and Bertemati. Their vineyards, covering over 500 acres, include Vina El Caribe, Vina El Diablo, and Vina Las Mezquitillas, all located on the renowned albariza soil of the Jerez Superior region.

The Pemartín brand dates back to 1810 when Julian Pemartín Rodis planted a vineyard in the Macharnudo pago and built the El Cuadro winery in 1819. The Bertola brand was founded in 1876 by the Díez brothers, later merging with Marqués del Mérito in 1979 to form Díez Mérito.

In the 2000s, under the Espinosa family’s ownership, the winery released one of the first V.O.R.S. wines, Fino Imperial, and revived a historic vermouth recipe, cementing its legacy in Jerez winemaking.
