Chateau Poujeaux

View Winery Website

Château Poujeaux, established in the 16th century and originally owned by Gaston De L’Isle of Château Latour, has changed hands numerous times. In 1921, the Theil family consolidated its divided sections. The modern era began in 2008 when the Cuvelier family, known for Clos Fourtet, acquired it. They modernized winemaking facilities and adopted organic vineyard management, leading to higher quality wines. The 68-hectare vineyard, planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, features gravel soils and sustainable practices. The Cuveliers are also exploring biodynamic farming.
