Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou

View Winery Website

Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, located in Bordeaux’s Saint-Julien appellation, is renowned for its red wine, classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. Purchased by François Borie in 1941, it remains family-owned. In the mid-1980s, the estate faced a TCA infestation that affected several vintages, but the issue was resolved with a new underground cellar built in the late 1990s. Today, the 50-hectare vineyard, managed by Bruno Borie, is planted with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot, growing on well-drained gravelly soil, with vines averaging 38 years in age.
