Chateau de Sales
Château de Sales, the largest vineyard in Pomerol with 47.6 hectares under vine, has a history dating back to the 16th century. Managed by the Sauvanelle brothers in 1602, the estate gained success and began exporting wines to Spain. In 2017, Marine Treppoz became chair, aiming to elevate the estate’s quality and reputation. The vineyard, primarily planted with Merlot (73%), benefits from a terroir of gravel and iron-rich sand. The vines are cultivated traditionally, with meticulous care for the environment, and grapes are hand-harvested at peak ripeness.
