At the foot of the majestic hill going by the name of Schlossberg, surrounded by vines and roses, lies Domaine Weinbach. Named after the little stream which runs through the property, and planted with vines since the 9th century, it was established as a winery in 1612 by Capuchin friars. Brilliantly yellow or deeply gold in color, Alsace Pinot Gris has an earthy, smoky nose with aromas of ripe orchard fruits, honey and gingerbread character. On the palate, these full-bodied, rich and round wines are always supported by bright freshness.

“A very shy nose on this wine gives next to nothing away. The palate, however, comes in with intense creaminess that has an edge of melted butter. It sits well with the rich, rounded pear fruit that dominates the midpalate. Gentle freshness frames the fruit and spells elegance. Power, spice and length become apparent on the dry finish.”
