N/Apts The Wine Advocate– 2016 vintage

FOR THE 2016 VINTAGE
The 2016 Riesling is 100% from Hunawihr (from deep limestone and clay) and, in total, six different sites and plots harvested during in 10 days in 2016. The wine opens clear and nicely aromatic, with some smoky flavors along with white-stone fruit and lemon flavors.

Round, yet dry and elegant, on the palate, this is a finessed and salty Riesling that reveals good freshness, grip and tension on the palate. Still a bit reductive, the 2016 will be even better after one year of bottle aging.

N/Apts James Suckling– 2016 vintage

FOR THE 2016 VINTAGE
Canned pear and apple character with hints of spice. Full body, fruity and easy. From organic grapes. Drink now. Screw cap.

N/Apts The Washington Post– 2017 vintage

FOR THE 2017 VINTAGE 2 ½ stars (Excellent +)
Mader produces consistently good riesling, and the 2017 is a delight, with ripe apricot and peach flavors and some stony mineral structure. This wine is dry, so riesling-phobes who shy away thinking it’s always sweet should feel confident enough to give it a try. ABV: 13 percent.
