“This rich bubbly shows good definition, thanks to its firm, lively acidity, providing a fine frame on which to showcase the wine’s lightly honeyed apple, quince, floral and spice flavors. The smoke-tinged finish is long and lingering.” -Wine Spectator

92pts Wine Spectator– N/V vintage

A firm version, with an airy mousse and a light toast to flavors of black currant, oyster shell, lemon zest and sliced almond, backed by vibrant acidity. Lingers on the creamy finish. Disgorged July 2015. Drink now through 2019. 455 cases imported. (11/16)

92pts The Wine Advocate– N/V vintage

The recent disgorgement of the NV Brut Premier Cru Tradition is a blend of 70% Chardonnay from Bisseuil, Pinot Noir (from Ambonnay and Bisseuil) and a bit of Pinot Meunier (from Mareuil-sur-Aÿ), mostly based on the 2014 vintage (80%) plus 2013/2012.

Fermented in 60% barriques bordelaise and aged on the second lees for 36 months, this cuvée has an intensely aromatic yet pure and mineral bouquet followed by a full-bodied, pure and powerful yet refreshing palate with lots of fruit and structure as well as remarkable freshness.

It’s complex and mineral, a bit loud perhaps and with nice grapefruit bitterness. Still very fresh, it needs some time to gain more finesse and elegance. Disgorged in March 2018 with a dosage of six grams per liter. Tasted April 2018.

92pts The Wine Advocate– N/V vintage

Disgorged in November 2018, the new release of Gonet-Medeville’s NV Brut Premier Cru Tradition is showing very well after a year on cork, offering up an expressive bouquet of honeyed peach, oatmeal, Meyer lemon and subtle hints of the nutty complexity to come with further aging.

On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, fleshy and generous, with terrific concentration, racy acids and a pinpoint mousse. Not only is this an excellent Champagne, but it’s a remarkably good value, too. (5/2020)

92pts Wine Spectator– N/V vintage

There’s a plush creaminess to this balanced Champagne, and citrusy acidity enlivens the expressive flavors of blackberry clafoutis, lemon curd and grilled nut. Hints of spice and grated ginger play on the finish. Disgorged September 2019. Drink now through 2025. 7,000 cases made, 86 cases imported (12/20).
