** STARS (Remarkable) Famous winemaker from the North Rhone Valley, Francois Villard, former chef, established his own winery in 1989 in Saint-Michel-sur-Rhone. He owns 32 ha in 5 crus producing white and red wines. He also produces wines from grapes purchased.
If woody aromas first dominate on the first nose, citrus and stones fruits become more present after some aeration. Such fruity notes include citrus and ripe yellow fruits with shades of elderberry and orange zest. The attack is soft with ripe pineapples.
The palate is round with good weight but without heaviness thanks to a fine acidity. The finish is long and balanced.
