92-94pts Vinous– 2019 vintage
Bright and energetic on the fragrant nose, displaying lively black/blue fruit and floral scents that pick up olive and black pepper notes as the wine opens up. In a juicy, fruit driven style, offering appealingly sweet cherry, blackberry and cassis flavors and suggestions of spice cake and cola. Finishes very long and smooth, with just a hint of fine grained tannins and persistent spiciness.
95pts Wine Spectator– 2019 vintage
This is really packed, offering dense waves of cassis, plum compote and blackberry reduction flavors that stay well-defined as they rumble through, with ample cast iron, sweet tapenade, lavender and bay leaf accents. There’s loads of grip on the back end, but it’s well-integrated, so just let this unwind in the cellar. Best from 2024 through 2038. 1,000 cases made, 100 cases imported.
