The 2018 Chateauneuf du Pape, sourced from the lieux-dits of Coudoulet and Chapouin, features expressive scents of garrigue and cherries, unencumbered by oak. It’s medium to full-bodied, silky and complex, with hints of lavender, bay leaf and sage imparting savory complexity to the red-fruited flavors. Reminiscent of the stellar 2016, it’s not the most concentrated or dense wine, but shows the more important qualities of balance and elegance.
