A Champagne full of brightness and purity. Composition: Its innovating style remains faithful to the balanced charm of the three varietals from Champagne: 40% Pinot Meunier, 35% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay. No sugar has been added to the dosage.

Appearance: Pale and gold intensity enhanced by pure brightness. The mousse is energetic with an abundant ultra fine bubble. Aroma: Complex and seductive aromas of dried fruits and brioche combined with floral notes.

This is further enhanced by the subtle charm of lemon verbena. A precise, elegant and aromatic freshness accentuated by the expression of the quality of the composition. Palate: Charming biscuity flavour and white fruits with a full and harmonious minerality resulting in a sensational balanced finish.

93+pts James Suckling– 2008 vintage

FOR THE 2008 VINTAGE
The newly released 2008 Extra Brut Vintage from Billecart-Salmon is still—predictably—quite youthfully reticent, opening in the glass with a lively bouquet of citrus oil, crisp white peach, white flowers, cardamon and nutmeg.

On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, chiseled and precise, with a tight-knit core, lovely underlying chalky extract and a tensile finish.

This is a vintage Billecart with more-than-usual upside, and it will be worth following for two decades in a cold cellar.

93pts Wine Spectator – 2008 vintage

FOR THE 2008 VINTAGE
A graceful Champagne that swathes the palate in a fine and creamy mousse, carrying flavors of baked blackberry, lemon meringue pie and chopped almond.

Vibrant acidity creates a mouthwatering impression on the minerally finish. Drink now through 2026.

95pts Wine Enthusiast– 2008 vintage

FOR THE 2008 VINTAGE – Cellar Selection
Billecart-Salmon 2008 Vintage Extra Brut (Champagne). Building on the structured Pinot Noir, often a hallmark of this producer’s Champagnes, this wine is densely textured and full of white fruits from the Chardonnay.

Still young, it remains on the fruit spectrum so wait until 2021 for the full glory of the maturity to come through.

93pts James Suckling– 2009 vintage

This is a big, rich wine with lots of strawberry and red-apple character.  It’s full and layered with very pretty fruit.  Caressing and fresh at the same time.  A bit ponderous.  40% Pinot Noir, 27% Pinot Meunier and the rest Chardonnay.

First time with Pinot Meunier in the blend, helping to maintain balance in the hot 2009 vintage.  Drink or hold.
