“From a south-facing, 1.4-hectare plot with 55-year-old vines on clayey limestone soils, the 2014 Sancerre Les Paradis is very bright and clear on the nose, displays spicy white and green fruit aromas and lemony flavors. Full-bodied and aromatic on the palate, it shows concentration but also finesse and lightness; it has a lovely phenolic grip and is a very pure and elegant, picture-book Sancerre with a lingering salty finish. The wine was fermented in conical wooden vats and in oval cask,s and aged on the fine lees for ten months before it was stored for another six months in vats. “When served with seafood or shellfish, fish cassoulet or crottin de Chavignol goat’s cheese, le Paradis is a truly hedonistic wine that will become better rounded as the years go by,” says the technical sheet.”

93pts Wine Advocate– 2013 vintage

The 2013 Sancerre Le Paradis is concentrated, pure and complex on the nose that reveals ripe, intense and concentrated stone fruit with vanilla and delicate flinty notes of milled stones. Very fine and elegant on the palate, this is a full-bodied, dense and concentrated Sancerre from old vines on clayey limestone soils. The acidity is remarkably fine and perfectly integrated, and the finish is long and tensioned, with stimulating salinity and phenolic grip. Tasted in January 2021.
