In 1871, the Nicolas family bought La Conseillante, the size of which, 12 hectares, and the plot have not changed since, which allowed it to preserve its exception. It was in 1960 that the heirs of Louis Nicolas decided to create the “Société Civile des Héritiers Nicolas”. Since 2001, La Conseillante has changed its internal organization by recruiting a Director, then in 2003 by setting up a Family Council. Since February 1, 2000, the Family Council of the Counselor has thus consisted of three members, Doctor Bertrand Nicolas, Jean-Valmy Nicolas co-manager since 2010 and Henri Nicolas.

Currently, it is the fifth generation of Nicolas who manages the château, thus marking the continuity and attachment of a family to a great wine. The role of the Family Council is to supervise the action of the Director and to take a position on strategic decisions (early sales price, allocations, investments, dividends, representation actions).  The Nicolas heirs are identified by the label with cut sides and silver border surrounding the number “LN”. The purple capsule recalls the fragrance and characteristics of the Cru. These elements chosen in 1871 by the Nicolas brothers remain elegantly modern in the 21st century.
